Maria Calloway, RN, MBA, DNP, NE-BC, has been named as the new Chief Nursing Officer for Providence Health.  Maria joins Providence Health with more than a decade of experience as a CNO. Previously, Ms. Calloway served as Chief Nursing Officer for Providence Medford Medical Center, Central Florida Regional Hospital, and Granville Health System, where she also served as Patient Safety & Quality Officer.

“I’m pleased to join the leadership team at Providence Health, and I look forward to participating in and maintaining the high clinical and patient-care standards of the organization,” said Maria Calloway. “This is a great opportunity to expand upon the legacy of Providence Health in the community, and to develop nursing initiatives to ensure the continued growth of the organization.”

Ms. Calloway’s professional development includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duke University. She also has a Master of Business Administration, as well as a Master of Science, Bachelor of Science, and Associate’s Degree, all in Nursing. In 2019, she expects to complete her Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification.

She is a member of the North West Organization of Nurse Executives which is part of American Organization of Nurse Executives, Virginia Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, American Nurses Association, American College of Health Executives, and the Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Association. She also served as First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve.

Ms. Calloway’s will begin at Providence Health on June 25.
