Dear Providence Health patient,

You recently may have learned that LifePoint Health, which owns our hospital, has signed an agreement to transition ownership of our facility and clinics to Prisma Health.

The opportunity to join Prisma Health is an exciting development for our team and those we serve.  Prisma Health is the largest not-for-profit health organization in South Carolina, serving more than 1.2 million patients each year. It has a strong presence in the Midlands and is known for its commitment to its communities.

As part of the Prisma Health system, we would have new opportunities to improve the delivery of high-quality, accessible health care and improve the health and well-being of our communities. We also would be able to create and expand centers of excellence in clinical areas such as cardiovascular, women’s health, orthopedics and pediatrics in ways that we cannot independently do today.

There are still important steps remaining to complete this transition, and it is difficult to predict the exact timing of its completion. However, we will communicate with our patients and communities as soon as we have definitive information to share.

During this process, we will be operating business as usual. All of the health care providers you know and trust will remain the same, as will the ways you engage with us.

Please be assured that we and the team at Prisma Health would plan the proposed integration very carefully to ensure that patient care is not disrupted. If there are any changes that would impact how you contact or connect with us, we will alert you well in advance.

We look forward to continuing to serve you and your family for months and years to come.

Sincerely,

Terry Gunn
