The U.S. News & World Report ranked Providence Health as a High Performing Hospital for COPD, Heart Failure, Hip Replacement, and Knee Replacement.
The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP®) recognized Providence Health for achieving meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care. Providence Health is the only hospital in South Carolina to be honored in this year's distinction which measures the quality of hospital surgery programs. The high scores received by Providence Health place it in the top 10% of 680 hospitals evaluated throughout the nation for Surgical Quality.
Providence Health has received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ “Highest Rated Award” of 3 stars 22 consecutive times. The measure is based on quality comparisons of cardiac surgery among all hospitals that report data on their outcomes. Ninety-four percent of all heart programs in the country submit to this review, and only 15% of those 1,000 heart programs receive this rating.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services awarded Providence Health a 4-star rating. The CMS ratings are available through its Hospital Compare website. The average national rating was three stars. Providence Health's 4-star ranking is yet another national third-party acknowledgement of our high quality care.
Providence Health's two Sleep Diagnostic Centers received accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare for demonstrating quality, integiroty and effectiveness.
Providence Health Northeast has been a Blue Distinction® Center for Knee and Hip Replacement since 2010. Blue Distinction® Centers demonstrate better quality and improved outcomes for patients, resulting in lower rates of complications and health care associated infections than their peers.
Providence Health has been awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI by the American College of Cardiology based on a rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
Providence Health is accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Accreditation helps healthcare facilities define and actualize their strengths, identify and improve processes, and recognize opportunities to enhance cardiac care.
Providence Health-Northeast is an Aetna Institute of Quality Orthopedic Care Facility for both Spine Surgery and Total Joint Replacement. Aetna Institutes of Quality recognize hospitals that meet certain standards of quality and cost efficiency. Factors that are measured include patient satisfaction, level of care and how often people return to the hospital after surgery.
Providence Health's downtown campus is an Aetna Institute of Quality ® (IOQ) Cardiac Medical Intervention, Cardiac Rhythm, and Cardiac Surgery Program. IOQ facilities show excellence in care and a commitment to continuous improvement. Aetna Institutes of Quality recognize hospitals that meet certain standards of quality and cost efficiency. Factors that are measured include patient satisfaction, level of care and how often people return to the hospital after surgery.
Providence Health received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
Providence Health's Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation facilities are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The cardiac rehab program has been a leader in its field having achieved this certification for more than 15 years. Providence's pulmonary rehab program is also certified by the AACVPR, marking it as a leader for offering "the most advanced practices available.”
Providence Health has been awarded accreditation in mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.
